FAKE GALLERY

TINY DADA ART SHOW + WORLD TOUR

Mini masterpieces, art on the go, and a sprinkle of sass. Our tour features itty-bitty sculptures and pint-sized paintings so tiny they'll make a flea jealous. It all fits in a carry-on suitcase, like a magician's bag of artistic tricks (and in homage to our darling Marcel Duchamp’s Boîte-en-valise "box in a suitcase.”)  We're not selling art we're gifting experiences. Stay tuned while we whip up a tiny 4x4 inch Art Book (you can buy that) and a short film to remember our miniature mayhem. Our irreverent artists are here to bring some whimsy to a world in turmoil. Plus we'll set up shop anywhere from garages to parks because art should be fun not intimidating.

If you've got a cool space CONTACT US - we're bringing the FAKE GALLERY DADA tiny ART SHOW to you!

Artist | MONIKA STANGEL - Queens NY NY USA

Tiny Bio | Cross Stitcher, CrossFitter, Amateur Mycologist, and Special Education Teacher living in NYC.

Tiny Statement | My first piece was a cross stitch of my cat.  It was a meditative and healing process that helped me deal with his passing.   My pieces are based on photographs of other people's pets, my friends, and favorite mushrooms.  I often experiment with size, pixelation, color, negative space, and texture.  I view my pieces as a way of grounding digital imagery by making it analogue again.

Tiny Bio | Experimental humourist filmmaker, Conceptual Sculptor and Dada Gallerist who loves joyful guerilla art interventions, turning difficult life experiences into comedic works of art, and working with what you have.

Tiny Statement | My film art is deeply personal, darkly comic, subversively feminist and my conceptual sculptures question what art is and who gets to decide. For this work I appropriated some pins my husband had borrowed from me and then stuck in tinfoil so they wouldn’t get lost. I reshaped the tinfoil, rearranged the pins, and declared it art.

Tiny Bio | As an artist, I strive to create immersive and captivating visual narratives that bring ancient myths and allegories to life. My passion for storytelling and the desire to explore these timeless tales through a fresh lens have led me to my latest series, which focuses on the Sirens from a female perspective. By delving deeper into their story beyond the negative portrayal that has been perpetuated by their jilted lovers, I aim to challenge the conventional ideas surrounding these mythic figures and offer a new perspective on their character. Through this series, I hope to create a sense of wonder and enchantment that resonates with viewers and inspires them to see these legends in a new light.

Tiny Statement | I am so honored to share my work by way of the amazing and genius Allison Beda first curated Tiny Dada Art Show. For my little artwork to be among such good company, I am filled with so much joy!

Her body of work spans from editing and designing books and magazines to ventures into contemporary dance and dance film.

Tiny Statement | The work 'Pop Pain: Self-Portrait of Strength' emerges as a visual and visceral testimony of my personal experience in the face of chronic degenerative diseases affecting my body. In the tradition of Frida Kahlo, this piece merges pop aesthetics with the raw authenticity of my own journey. By embracing Frida's obsession, an icon of struggle and expression through art amidst pain, I seek to explore my own relationship with suffering and physical wear.
